On September 2, the US military struck a boat transporting drugs to the US, according to President Donald Trump. Eleven narcoterrorists from a gang purportedly associated with Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro were killed in the strike.

President Trump released a video. Before exploding in a ball of flames, an open-topped speedboat was carrying a number of people across a body of water. "Earlier this morning, on my Orders, US Military Forces conducted a kinetic strike against positively identified Tren de Aragua Narcoterrorists," President Trump stated on September 2.

After days of growing tension between Washington and Caracas, the strike was announced. Seven U.S. warships and a single nuclear-powered fast-attack submarine are reportedly present in the Caribbean or will arrive shortly. In the midst of tensions over drug cartel activities, the ships are transporting approximately 4,500 U.S. sailors and Marines.
