U.S. President Donald Trump departed early from the G7 Summit, citing developments in the Middle East, according to his press secretary. Earlier, he urged Americans to leave Tehran immediately, fueling speculation that U.S. troops, possibly in coordination with Israel, might launch an invasion of Iran.

In a joint statement issued late on June 16, President Trump and other G7 leaders called for a de-escalation of the ongoing confrontation between Israel and Iran. While the leaders agreed on the need to reduce tensions, they stopped short of calling for an immediate ceasefire during their summit in Calgary, Canada.President Trump was seen waving to reporters as he departed the summit on June 16. A State Department spokesperson later confirmed that Secretary of State Marco Rubio returned to Washington alongside the President.
