Hyundai Motor Company and General Motors have reached a major milestone in their previously announced collaboration, unveiling plans for their first five jointly designed vehicles.

The lineup includes a compact SUV, a sedan, a compact pickup, a mid-sized pickup, and an electric commercial van. Four of these models—offered with both internal combustion and hybrid powertrains—are aimed at markets in Central and South America.

Once production reaches full scale, the companies expect annual sales of more than 800,000 units. Industry analysts say this represents one of the most significant automotive alliances in recent years and could threaten the market share of competitors such as Volkswagen and Toyota.
