From 19 to 23 October 2026, ASTRON hosted the first meeting of the ADPCG in Dwingeloo.
The group was established in late 2025. This followed the publication of the paper “Advanced Data Products for Radio Observatories”, which explored the potential of Advanced Data Products (ADPs) for radio astronomy. ADPs transform raw observational data into science ready results. They make datasets accessible to more researchers.
The ADPCG brings together radio observatories and the radio astronomy community. The main goal is to coordinate efforts, and accelerate the development of ADPs across observatories. The group is chaired by Eric Villard (ESO).
The meeting at ASTRON was an opportunity to discuss common challenges and identify priorities for the future. A topic was the analysis of the group’s recent community survey, which will help guide its activities.
“We look forward to building on these discussions and continuing this collaborative effort,” says Eric Villard.
