World Peace Starts with You and Me

On September 21st, the International Day of Peace, the world comes together to emphasize the significance of "love" and "peace" as essential solutions to address the frequent natural and human-made crises that afflict our planet. To commemorate this occasion, the independent international news media, The Global People Daily News, organized an online program titled "World Peace Starts with You and Me." During this event, several esteemed international guests were invited to share their personal experiences and perspectives on peace.

The first speaker, Harrypersad Maharaj from the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, emphasized that achieving harmony within oneself, harmony with others, and harmony with nature is fundamentally rooted in one's "conscience" and "consciousness." He conveyed the idea that these qualities are the essential keys to becoming a responsible and enlightened global citizen.

"Achieving 'inner peace' is the key to peace," emphasized Mohinder Singh Ahluwalia, the president of Guru Nanak Nishkam Sewak Jatha from the United Kingdom. He highlighted that attaining inner peace involves cultivating a peaceful state of mind through prayer, selfless service, and the glorification of God. Additionally, he emphasized that qualities such as love, compassion, truth, contentment, humility, and sacrifice are all essential ingredients for fostering genuine peace.

Tamba Mbayoh, a law student hailing from the Lion Rock Republic, shared his inspiring journey of becoming a children's activist, driven by the experiences of war in his homeland. During his teenage years, Tamba took the initiative to establish the Lion Rock Peace Coalition, a dedicated organization aimed at advocating for the well-being of children affected by conflict and organized crime.

In addition to his advocacy work, Tamba uses the power of music to amplify the message of peace and unity. He passionately sings, "If you believe in peace, join hands now. If you believe in love, join hands now. If you believe in unity, join hands now. Together, we can create a better world." His song, filled with warmth and light, serves as a powerful reminder of the potential for positive change through collective efforts and shared values.

Annie, a wise 9-year-old student from Taiwan, imparted a valuable perspective on international relations by drawing a heartwarming parallel to the games she enjoys with her friends at school. She emphasized that, just like her friends, nations can build positive relationships by getting along, having fun, and fostering mutual learning.

The essence of the universe can be profoundly simple. A child's perspective provides a pure and unfiltered view of the world. To foster both personal peace and global harmony, we can all benefit from the innocence and clarity of children's perceptions.
