Stand Up for Dignity! Uncle Anand!

How does a Facebook volunteer invitation to cross borders and link a life story? The independent international news media "Global People Daily News" specially produces the online program "Stand Up for Dignity! Uncle Anand!" to tell the story of Mr. Anand, who lives in India and lost both legs in a train accident. After wandering for many years, he opens his heart and faces life with optimism. Since then, his life has changed dramatically. Welcome to watch this inspirational story.

Anand was born into a scholarly family in Uttar Pradesh, India, and graduated in Mechanical Engineering from India's top National Institutes of Technology Allahabad in 1986. After graduation, he worked for the Modi Group, a well-known private company in India, where he held various factory positions. Subordinates, coworkers, seniors, and management all praised him. The good times continued until June 23rd, 2003, when he lost his legs in a train accident. Despite his survival, his life has since been turned upside down.

Completely disabled, he left his family and spent more than 13 years on the streets. He was awakened at 5:00 a.m. one day by an unknown young man at the bus stop where he was sleeping. His generosity and financial assistance moved and surprised Anand. He wanted to get up and chase him down. According to Anand, he was unable to catch up because he did not put on his prosthetics in time. It wasn't until that moment that he truly felt the warmth of others and began to value the outside world's encouragement and support.

In October 2020, he obtained a smartphone and learned to use social media platforms such as Facebook, WhatsApp, and YouTube, which enabled him to communicate with the rest of the world.

In March 2022, his heart was moved by a Facebook post from GPDN volunteers inviting people from all over the world to share their own mental health stories. Mya, a volunteer, encouraged Anand to open his mind and share his life story in order to create the butterfly effect of love. On the day he agreed and began to act, it was also Anand's 59th birthday.

To solve the filming issue, he enlisted the help of a good friend he met on the Internet. Surprisingly, the friend is working for a well-known Indian channel (Ten News), which promptly scheduled two exclusive interviews for him. In this way, he defends his dignity while moving forward into an infinitely bright future!

Anand stated that life's encounters have two sides: good fortune creates a charmed life, and bad luck creates a cursed life. What is certain is that one's fate is altered by his actions, whether good or bad. This experience taught him to accept the lessons of his life and to be grateful for the love and warmth he received from those around him. His life changed dramatically when he opened his heart and shared his story with others!
