Human Rights Watch indicated that recently-won Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanes should focus more on climate crisis. Therefore human rights can be protected in many aspects like life, health, and food.

About the greenhouse gas emissions, Australia is within the top 20 emitters, as well as part of the largest emitters per person. Moreover, Australia is the 3rd largest fossil fuel exporter and related companies even gain interest from tax breaks.

With this huge amount of emission, Labor mapped out a bigger emission reduction goal of 43% by 2030, contrast to the last government’s 28%. Albanese also promised to make Australia a great country of renewable energy. This backed up the Greens Party and the other climate concerned people.

Yet on the other hand, Albanese agreed to start new fossil fuel developments, including coal and gas exploitation.
