Amber Heard stated in her first post-verdict interview that she does not blame the jurors. During her defamation trial against ex-husband Johnny Depp, the actress spoke out about the unfair hate and vitriol she received on social media. "You can't tell me this has been fair," the 36-year-old actress said in an interview clip that aired on NBC News' Dateline on June 9.

Millions of people watched live as the two Hollywood celebrities fought in court for six weeks. Throughout the trial, social media was inundated with posts and opinions, the vast majority of which favored Depp and chastised Heard.

On June 1, a US jury unanimously determined that Ms. Heard defamed Mr. Depp when she wrote an op-ed for the Washington Post about being a victim of domestic violence in 2018. Mr. Depp was awarded $15 million by a jury, which was later reduced to $10.35 million. Ms Heard was awarded US$2 million in damages in a complaint against her ex-husband for defamatory comments made by his lawyer, who referred to her abuse claims as a hoax.

During an interview teaser with Savannah Guthrie on the "Today" show on June 14, Amber Heard called Johnny Depp a liar and stated that she stands by every word of her explosive testimony. She did, however, apologize for being such a jerk during their highly toxic marriage.
